Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

  • To understand the flow of patients and the flow of cash as they work their way through an orthopaedic practice.
  • To have a basic understanding of the different orthopedic practice business models that any resident or Fellow should know before deciding on where to practice.
  • Be able to articulate the different ways physicians can be compensated for the work they do.
  • To be introduced to the concept of leadership and the benefits of a team approach to healthcare delivery.
  • Acquire insights into the job interview process
  • Provide a foundation of knowledge to optimize the transition from training to the active workforce as an orthopaedic surgeon.
