Description
Review the diagnosis and management of the four most common complications after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty. Topics will include the management of acromial fracture, infection, instability and humeral/glenoid component loosening. An ""up-to-date"" review of the current diagnosis and treatment options for these will be reviewed along with case discussion.
Learning Objectives
1.) Understand the indications for the surgical and nonsurgical management of acromial fractures after reverse shoulder arthroplasty and understand the currently preferred surgical techniques
2.) Understand the diagnosis workup of infection after reverse shoulder arthroplasty and understand the currently preferred surgical treatment options including debridement and retention of components, one stage or two stage revision along with optimal candidates for each.
3.) Understand the diagnosis and prevention strategies for instability after reverse shoulder arthroplasty and surgical treatment preferences in managing a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
4.) Understand the common reasons for humeral and glenoid component loosening and preferred surgical management.
