- identify factors leading to successful primary hip and knee arthroplasty, including implant selection, surgical technique, patient optimization, and postoperative care.
- Identify causes of failure of total knee and hip arthroplasty and options for treatment.
- diagnose and treat dysplastic conditions about the hip and knee.
- describe the evaluation and treatment of postoperative complications, including thromboembolic disease, infection, instability, aseptic loosening, and periprosthetic fracture.
