Expert, Dr. Susan Scott, will discuss the emotional and psychological toll, sharing personal experiences and highlighting strategies to create a supportive environment. Attendees will learn about institutional programs designed to foster resilience, mitigate burnout, and enhance overall well-being, ensuring that caregivers receive the care they need to continue delivering exceptional patient care.

 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to: 
1- Understand the Concept of Second Victims: Define and explore the phenomenon of second victims in healthcare, including the emotional and psychological impact on healthcare professionals following emotionally challenging clinical events.


2- Identify Peer Support Tactics: Highlight the basic roles of a peer supporter and provide practical guidance on how to engage in supportive conversations with coworkers, fostering a compassionate and understanding work environment.
