Description

This ICL, presented in partnership with the Cervical Spine Research Society, provides a comprehensive, practice-relevant update on the evaluation and management of cervical myelopathy. Faculty will review current and emerging classification systems, discuss contemporary surgical treatment strategies, and highlight evidence-based decision-making principles across a range of clinical scenarios. The session will also focus on practical surgical pearls aimed at minimizing complications and optimizing patient outcomes in the treatment of cervical myelopathy.

Learning Objectives

  • Review current approaches to the diagnosis, classification, and treatment of cervical myelopathy, with an emphasis on conditions commonly encountered in clinical spine practice.
  • Apply surgical decision-making principles to select appropriate operative strategies for cervical myelopathy based on patient presentation, disease severity, alignment, and comorbidities.
  • Identify common intraoperative and postoperative complications associated with cervical myelopathy surgery and implement practical techniques and strategies to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
